Subject: keyboard layout

hello,

i am using peng (not xpeng) via a shell. export shows TERM="xterm"
in the shell i can use letters like ä,ö,ü, backspace,... but it's not possible 
to use it in peng. the xpeng version doesn't work on my notebook and desktop 
pc.

what can i do????
